Biomade
Research description: Biomade Technology is an independent research institute, whose mission
is to develop and guide promising bio- and nano-technologies
forthcoming from academia to viable intellectual property portfolios.
Strong collaborations with academic and industrial partners are
established to develop marketable applications in various fields with
emphasis on bio-organic materials and devices. We aim to contribute to
society with innovative problem-solving technologies and products to be
commercialized via licenses, spin-outs, etc.
The core business of Biomade is research and development in the area of
bionanotechnology. The research projects originate from basic research
running at partner universities and are being carried out by our own
professional research staff in close conjunction with the university
staff. This approach ensures continued and unfettered access to high
quality basic research happening in the institutes, and the freedom
necessary to focus the projects towards commercialization.
Current research programs at Biomade include mucosal vaccine
technology, therapeutic protein stabilization technology, functional
nanomaterials for biomedical applications, surface modifying proteins
and channel protein technology for diagnostics and drug delivery. The
research activities are supported by small but active and
well-organized intellectual property department.
